FICHET is a French brand that now operates as Point Fort Fichet, a network specialising in armoured doors and high-security locks and cylinders. This page does not imply membership of that network. On a FICHET door, the door and the lock have to be identified separately, because they are not always the same brand or from the same period.

We identify the type of door, the lock and its key system before suggesting anything. For a door opening, we assess how it is locked, and there is no guarantee the lock will be left undamaged; for a fault, whether it lies in the mechanism, the cylinder or the locking points.

How to describe a FICHET part
On doors with FICHET hardware, it helps to separate what you see on the door leaf from what you see on the lock. A good description starts there.
- Tell us where the FICHET name appears: on the door’s plate, on the lock faceplate or on the cylinder.
- Tell us whether the door is noticeably heavy and thick or looks like an ordinary wooden door.
- Tell us whether locking throws bolts only on the side or also at the top and bottom.
- Explain whether you can’t get in, the key doesn’t operate the lock or the door locks but doesn’t feel secure.
- Mention whether anyone has already tried to open or dismantle anything.

Why it matters to inspect a door with FICHET parts
On a FICHET security door, the lock, the locking points and the door leaf itself all depend on one another. What can be done varies with that door, the assembly fitted to it and the condition of its parts. Without seeing it, any proposal would be guesswork.

Inspecting, repairing or replacing a FICHET part
- Inspecting means identifying the door leaf and the lock separately and finding which of them has the problem.
- Repairing means getting the FICHET mechanism working again with whatever can be put right on the door itself.
- Replacing a part is only considered if there is a spare that fits, and that is never taken for granted.
- When you can’t get in, the door is opened first and the condition of the lock is assessed afterwards.

What to confirm in your FICHET quote
A door opening and a repair are priced differently and, on high-security doors, the type of door and the specific parts also play a part. VAT is added on top, the price depends on when the service takes place and a supplement applies outside Torrevieja. We give you the price before we start.

Questions about FICHET
Do the FICHET door and lock need to be identified separately?
Yes. The door may be FICHET and the lock not, or the other way round, and each has its own parts. Identifying them separately avoids ordering the wrong spares.
Can you work on any FICHET model?
We can’t guarantee it. We open doors with FICHET locks and repair FICHET locks, but some faults require specific parts that may not be available.
Which photos help identify my FICHET hardware?
One of the whole door, one of the lock faceplate in the door edge and one of the cylinder or keyhole from outside. Please don’t send the key registration card or photos of the key cuts.
How is the quote for FICHET confirmed?
From the photos we give you the price before we start, with VAT on top. If opening or inspecting the lock shows that different parts are needed and the price changes, we don’t carry on without your agreement.

What should I do if the FICHET door locks but feels loose when I push it?
Mention it when you get in touch, as it may be due to a locking point that doesn’t fully engage. Until it is inspected, there is no way to know whether it needs an adjustment or an internal part.
Can I keep using the FICHET door if the key starts to get stiff?
Better not to force it. Forcing a mechanism that is already giving warning signs could end up locking you out, so get in touch as soon as possible.
