TOVER is a manufacturer of locking systems. It makes rim locks with one or several locking points, mortice locks for timber doors, locks for metal profiles, cylinders, handles, knobs, padlocks, safes and digital locks. We only work on its mechanical door locks, not on digital locks, padlocks or safes.
Assessing the job and its limits
The first thing is to know how it is fitted: a rim lock sits on the inside face of the door and a mortice lock inside the door leaf. How we open, repair or replace it changes in each case, so we don’t carry the conditions of one over to the other.
Options before you accept the work
We suggest opening the door, repairing the lock or replacing it with a TOVER lock or a compatible one with the same fitting, and give you the price before we start. Opening the door doesn’t guarantee that the lock will be left undamaged.

With a TOVER lock, what helps most is knowing how it is fitted and what it does when you use it. If you are locked out, tell us about that too when you call.
- Look on the inside to see whether the lock case sits on the door leaf or only the faceplate shows on the door edge.
- Count how many bolts come out when you lock it with the key.
- Tell us whether the door closed on the latch or was locked with the key turned.
- Explain whether the key has snapped, won’t go in or turns without catching.
- If the door is timber or metal, mention it when you describe the problem.

A TOVER lock that has failed is not the same as one that works and that you want to make easier to use or more secure.
- It is a fault when you can’t get in because the door won’t open with your key.
- So is a bolt that won’t come out or a rim lock case that has come away from the door leaf.
- It is an upgrade need when the lock works properly but seems too little protection for that door.
- So is wanting the lock to operate with less effort even though it still works today.

What to check after work on TOVER hardware
- Lock it with the key and check that all the bolts the lock had come out.
- If it is a rim lock, make sure the case sits firmly on the inside face.
- Open and close from outside and from inside without forcing the turn.
- Pull the door shut and check that the latch engages in the strike plate.

Opening, repairing or replacing are priced differently; the type of fitting and the number of locking points play a part. VAT is always extra, the price depends on when the service takes place and a supplement applies outside Torrevieja. We give you the price before we start.
