Which part to identify on a door with AZBE
A mortice lock is hidden inside the door leaf and only its faceplate shows on the door edge; a rim lock is fully visible on the inside. The cylinder is where the key goes in, and the strike plate is the plate on the frame that receives the bolt. Seeing AZBE on the lock does not mean the cylinder or escutcheon are the same brand, nor the other way round.

Will changing just the cylinder fix a stiff AZBE lock?
