FAC is a Spanish company that makes bolts and locks, safes, gun cabinets and alarm systems, as well as smart locks under another brand. We only deal with its mechanical door bolts and locks: not safes, gun cabinets, alarms or electronic locks.
Assessing your case and its limits
A bolt only adds security if the door and frame can hold it. We check the thickness and material of the door leaf and frame where it is fixed, and whether an existing bolt is failing because of the mechanism, the fixing or the strike plate.

We suggest repairing the FAC bolt or lock, replacing it with another compatible FAC unit or adding a reinforcing bolt in the right place, with the price before we start.

How to describe a FAC part
With FAC, enquiries usually revolve around a bolt, either already fitted or yet to be fitted. The better you describe where it is and how it is fixed, the easier it is to advise you.
- Tell us whether the bolt is screwed onto the inside face of the door leaf or set into the wood.
- Tell us how high it sits in relation to the main lock.
- Look for the FAC name on the bolt cover or on the keeper in the frame that the bolt slides into.
- Tell us whether the bolt doesn’t go in, only goes in when forced or whether the bolt body moves.
- Explain whether the bolt has its own cylinder visible from outside or is only operated from inside.

Inspecting, repairing or replacing a FAC part
- Inspecting means checking the fixing, the bolt’s travel and the keeper in the frame that receives it.
- Repairing means re-seating the bolt, correcting its alignment or replacing whatever is worn.
- Replacing means fitting another bolt when the current one cannot be repaired and the door can take the new part.
- Adding a reinforcing bolt is a separate decision, assessed by looking at the door leaf and frame.

Repairing, replacing or adding a bolt are priced differently depending on the model and any reinforcement the frame needs. VAT is added on top, the price depends on when the service takes place and a supplement applies outside Torrevieja. We give you the price before we start.

Can you work on any FAC model?
No. We fit, replace and repair mechanical FAC door bolts and locks. We don’t deal with safes, gun cabinets, alarms or electronic locks, and each model is confirmed by its reference.
Which photos help identify my FAC hardware?
One of the inside of the door where the bolt goes, one from outside and one of the frame. If there is already a FAC bolt, make sure its marking is visible. Please don’t send detailed photos of your keys.
How is the quote for FAC confirmed?
From the photos we give you the price for repairing, replacing or adding the bolt before we start, with VAT on top. If inspecting the frame changes anything, we explain it and you decide.

What if the FAC bolt only locks when I push the door?
Usually the bolt and its keeper in the frame no longer line up. When we inspect it, we see whether an adjustment fixes it or there is another cause behind it.
Does a reinforcing FAC bolt replace the main lock?
No, it adds to it as an extra locking point. The main lock still does its job, and it should also be in good working order.
